We encourage tour guests to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled tour start time. We understand situations can occur causing late arrivals, but please understand that with public bus or van tours, we have to stick to a schedule and depart on time. For public walking tours, we typically are near the starting location for several minutes talking about nearby sites of interest.

Call us at (313)757-1283. Frequently, our staff is leading tours simultaneously and will not be able to return your call immediately. If you think you may be late, please call us before your tour starts. We cannot guarantee you can catch up with your tour, but we will help as much as we can to get you there.

While tipping guides and drivers is not mandatory, it is customary and always appreciated.

Definitely! Visit our private tours page for more details.

We tour in light rain or shine. We do cancel tours for heavy rain and storms or if inclement weather is causing dangerous travel situations for our guides or guests. If in doubt, please check your email or text messages for updates from us.

Comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. If rain is in the forecast, bring an umbrella just in case.

Yes! We have a Souvenir and Gift Store located inside the Guardian Building, 500 Griswold Street, Suite 250, centrally located in downtown Detroit. We are open every day except Tuesdays, from 10am to 4pm.

Refunds are not provided unless we cancel the tour. Feel free to pass on your reservation to friends or family members if you can’t make it.

We typically schedule a restroom break on our tours. If you can’t wait until the scheduled break, we’ll try to direct you to the closest restroom.

For street parking, Detroit uses the ParkDetroit mobile app, where you can pay for parking via credit card. You can add time on meters within posted time limits, and the app sends out text alerts 10 minutes before the meter expires. The city of Detroit monitors the spaces covered by the kiosks from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Street parking is free on Sundays. There are also various parking lots and structures available throughout Detroit. Since starting locations for our tours vary, we recommend using online resources such as www.parkopedia.com for parking recommendations and prices. We ask that you please plan accordingly for time to find parking. Always lock your car and never leave valuables in plain sight!

Tour guides will be on location 20 minutes prior to tour start time.

We prefer monetary transactions not take place on the street, though we do occasionally make exceptions. In the event that you don’t pay before the date of the tour, it’s best to call first to make sure your tour is a go or that it’s not full.
