Detroit: You’re So Unusual! Bus Tour
This fun, quirky Detroit bus tour goes beyond the familiar local landmarks and showcases the cool, curious, unfamiliar, and forgotten sites of interest located within the city’s vast 139 square miles. With over one hundred unusual, unique, humorous, and legendary sites of interest to choose from, we curated an excellent list of things to see on this fun Detroit: You’re So Unusual! bus tour.
Detroit’s little Venice. An outdoor place of healing. Jimmy Hoffa’s unusual office. Now-vacant shop that launched careers of hip hop legends. Eerie vault filled with cremains of well-known Detroiters. Easter Island-style giant heads. These are just a tiny sampling of the intriguing things found on our “Detroit: You’re So Unusual Tour!”
Two dates only – August 11 and September 8 for this fascinating Detroit: You’re so Unusual! bus tour
Although a few sites on each tour may be located downtown, the majority are located in Detroit neighborhoods – far away from recognizable landmarks such as Spirit of Detroit, Joe Louis Fist, James Scott Fountain, etc. (If you want to know about those monuments, our “See The D” tour is probably the better tour for you).
Because Detroit is so large, we’ve allotted five hours for this tour. Don’t worry, we get off the bus frequently and take an “included” refreshment and restroom break ½ way through. We’ll keep you hydrated and offer up ample snacks, too.
This bus tour is guided by none other than local historian Marion Miele Christiansen who was tour director for Preservation Detroit as well as the organization’s interim director.
