Karin Risko - Owner / Guide

Karin has been showing off Detroit and SE Michigan for the past six years. Hearing people – especially those who’ve been in the area for many years – say “I never knew that” is what makes Karin tick. She also derives great pleasure when out-of-state/country visitors remark about how wonderful Detroit really is.

Karin has always marveled at Detroit’s history. In fact, when she first graduated from Central Michigan University many moons ago, she thought it would be great to start a tour company. Now, many years later, that’s exactly what she’s doing! While many of her peers are enjoying retirement, Karin is building a company that shows off the many different facets of Detroit’s fabulous and quirky history. For Karin, every day is a new adventure where she gets to meet wonderful people from all over the world, fuel her passion for history, and discover fun new developments underway today.

Nancy

Nancy

Tour Development  / Guide

Many years ago, Nancy moved from a small town in Western Pennsylvania to the Detroit area.  She married her best friend and together they raised three boys with whom they loved sharing wonderful adventures.  Detroit family adventures included exploring Trapper’s Alley, the museums, Belle Isle and attending symphony performances, sporting events and the annual Thanksgiving Day parade – a longtime Detroit tradition.

Nancy works downtown, so she’s able to experience first-hand the growth and excitement of the city’s resurgence. She and her husband love to explore the magnificent old buildings and savor the flavors of the many new bars and restaurants. Want to know about the latest restaurant or bar opening? Ask Nancy! She makes it her mission to check out every new place that opens. In fact, she'll be tapping into her "foodie" passion by designing some fab future food and cocktail tours. Stay tuned! She looks forward to this new opportunity to share the city with others.
